Jordana Haar is building a diverse civil litigation practice. Prior to joining
Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP, Jordana articled at McCarthy Tetrault LLP and MT>3, a Division of McCarthy Tetrault, in Toronto, dividing her time between litigation and e-discovery. Jordana received her law degree from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During her time at Queen’s, she served as a research assistant to Professor Jacob Weinrib, working on research projects in constitutional and administrative law. She also volunteered with the Queen’s Legal Aid Clinic, served as the president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, and participated in the Laskin Moot, finishing second overall. Prior to attending Queen’s, Jordana received an Honours Bachelor of Arts in international relations from Western University. Jordana was called to the bar in 2022. Jordana regularly volunteers with Pro Bono Ontario.
Representative Counsel Matters
Jordana has assisted on
- obtaining a full acquittal of the client in a contempt proceeding that sought a US$3.5 billion judgment against a former high-ranking Saudi Arabian intelligence official accused of acting in contempt of a Mareva injunction
- class actions involving breach of privacy, negligence, and breach of contract claims
- shareholder disputes and oppression claims
- regulatory proceedings before the Privacy Commissioner of Canada
- professional liability disputes, both in court and in mediation
