Alexandra Allison has a broad civil litigation practice that includes contract disputes, shareholder litigation, insolvency, employment disputes and estates and trusts litigation. Prior to joining Chernos Flaherty Svonkin LLP, Alexandra articled at a leading national law firm and clerked at the Court of Appeal for Ontario. She has appeared as counsel before the Ontario Superior Court and has acted on complex matters before numerous other courts and tribunals including the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Alexandra received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. Alexandra also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts (with High Distinction) in history and philosophy from the University of Toronto. Alexandra was called to the Ontario bar in 2018.


Alexandra has represented

  • a construction company on an appeal concerning fair treatment of participants in a public procurement process
  • an entertainment company on the judicial review of a decision by the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario
  • shareholders, directors and officers bringing and defending claims of oppression, fraud and breach of fiduciary duties
  • financial institutions bringing and defending claims for breach of confidence and breach contractual employment covenants resulting from employee departures
  • attorneys for property on an application regarding administration of an estate
  • insurance companies in a variety of insurance coverage disputes
